During Malaysia's Movement Control Order, our entire team transitioned to remote work to keep projects running smoothly while prioritizing everyone's health and safety.

Covid-19

Malaysia’s Movement Control Order

The government of Malaysia announced of movement control order (MCO) due to the Covid-19 issue from 18th March 2020 until 31st March 2020. This unprecedented measure required businesses across the country to adapt quickly to ensure both the safety of their teams and the continuity of their operations.

The MCO was one of the most significant public health measures in Malaysia’s modern history. Interstate travel was restricted, non-essential businesses were ordered to close, and Malaysians were required to stay home except for essential errands. For the tech industry, the transition to remote work was more manageable than for many other sectors, but it still presented challenges — particularly around maintaining team communication, managing client expectations, and ensuring secure access to development environments from home networks.

Health and Safety Reminders

Everyone, please take care of yourself. Wash hands frequently, use hand sanitizer and wear a mask if you are sick. Following public health guidelines is the most effective way to protect yourself and those around you during this period.

We encouraged our team to follow all Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines, including practising physical distancing, avoiding crowded spaces, and monitoring the MySejahtera app for the latest updates. The wellbeing of our people has always been our top priority, and during this period that commitment took on a new urgency. We checked in with team members regularly and ensured that anyone who needed support — whether logistical or personal — had access to it.

Advisory Apps Transitions to Remote Work

Our office closed from 18th March 2020 to 31st March 2020. All of our team members are working from home, however, we are reachable at info@advisoryapps.com for any inquiries. Our development and support teams remain fully operational, and we are committed to delivering the same level of service to all our clients throughout this period.

As a software company, Advisory Apps was well-positioned to shift to remote operations. Our team already used cloud-based project management tools, version control systems, and video conferencing platforms as part of our daily workflow. The MCO accelerated our adoption of fully distributed working practices, and we were able to maintain our development timelines and client deliverables without significant disruption.

Our Commitment to Clients During the Pandemic

We understood that many of our clients were facing their own challenges during this unprecedented time. Some needed to fast-track digital solutions — such as online ordering systems, contactless delivery platforms, or remote collaboration tools — to keep their businesses running. Our team stepped up to meet those urgent needs, working closely with clients to prioritise the features and solutions that mattered most in the moment. We remain grateful for the trust our clients placed in us during this difficult period, and we are proud of what our team accomplished together.
