Advisory Apps Sdn Bhd with Lions Club and Nasional Blood Centre
Advisory Apps Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Lions Club and the Nasional Blood Centre, organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) blood donation drive on July 27, 2024. Held at Megah Rise Mall from 9 am to 5 pm, the event aimed to encourage mall visitors to participate in this vital cause.
Date: 27th July 2024
Time: 9 am - 5pm
Venue: Megah Rise Mall
Malaysia’s Pusat Darah Negara (National Blood Centre) is the country’s primary institution responsible for collecting, processing, and distributing blood supplies to hospitals nationwide. The centre relies heavily on voluntary donors to maintain adequate blood stocks, particularly during festive seasons and school holidays when donation rates tend to drop. By bringing the donation process to a public venue like Megah Rise Mall, our partnership aimed to lower the barriers for first-time donors and make the experience as accessible and welcoming as possible.
Encouraging Public Participation and Awareness
The drive provided an opportunity for the public to contribute to the community by donating blood, and the organizers highlighted the numerous benefits of blood donation, including saving lives and supporting local healthcare needs. The event also featured informative booths and interactive sessions to educate attendees about the importance of regular blood donation and its impact on saving lives.
Lions Club International has a long history of community service in Malaysia, with local chapters organising health screenings, disaster relief, and youth programmes across the country. Their expertise in event logistics and community outreach was invaluable in making this blood donation drive a success. Together with Advisory Apps and the Nasional Blood Centre, the three organisations brought complementary strengths to the table — healthcare expertise, community mobilisation, and corporate support.
“Donate Blood, Share Hope: Your Gift of Life Matters!”
Why Blood Donation Matters in Malaysia
Malaysia requires approximately 2,000 pints of blood daily to meet the needs of patients in hospitals across the country. Accident victims, surgical patients, mothers experiencing complications during childbirth, and individuals undergoing cancer treatment all depend on a steady supply of donated blood. Despite growing awareness, Malaysia’s voluntary blood donation rate still has room for improvement, making community-driven events like this one essential for closing the gap between supply and demand.

Advisory Apps’ Commitment to Community Health
Organising a public blood donation drive was a natural extension of Advisory Apps’ CSR programme. While our day-to-day work centres on building software solutions, we recognise that healthy communities are the foundation on which all businesses thrive. Events like this allow our team to step outside the office, connect with the public, and contribute to a cause that has a direct, life-saving impact. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Lions Club and the Nasional Blood Centre in future drives.
